About Perqs
Today in this historic, original brick building you'll find the popular Perqs nightclub and sports bar, which has been open almost 38 years. The building, just one of two truly historic buildings left on Main, was built in 1913. In the 1920s, it was a barbershop and billiard parlor. In the 1930s, it was a bar downstairs and a brothel upstairs ( this lasted do to popular demand). In the 60s & 70s it stayed a bar downstairs and the old brothel rooms were rented out daily, or weekly. 1974 is when Perqs became a reality, after going through a few names first, such as, Main Street Saloon, Gospel Swamp, etc.. If you visit us today you will find a full bar and a comfortable, old school atmosphere. Full of our wonderful regulars, some since the start, (continued below)
and some come and go, these people keep us going and we thank them for the great 37 years together. Stop in and grab a drink (or two), have a good and respectful time, and it will be always fun
